Adderstone Group, has invested a seven-figure sum into OpenWorks Engineering, an award-winning, hi-tech product company based in Stocksfield, Northumberland, UK, which is developing world-leading security and counter-terrorism products.

The talented team of British engineers have developed ground breaking technology that allows authorities the ability to remotely and automatically capture nefarious drones, SkyWall300.

OpenWorks received international recognition after inventing the handheld SkyWall100 system. It has already been deployed by major government authorities and protected President Barack Obama during his visit to Berlin last year.

SkyWall300 is an automatic version of the field proven SkyWall100 system and offers an increase in range and autonomy.

There has been no shortage of press coverage on the threats that drones can pose when used in the wrong hands. Incidents continue to rise and present themselves in ever wider contexts.

SkyWall300 is an air powered system that launches the same range of net capture projectiles used with the SkyWall100 handheld system. It integrates with external drone detection and command and control systems to allow for maximum ease of use.

It automatically tracks any drone prior to giving the remote operator the ability to command the system to capture the target.
The SkyWall concept is simple; physically capture a drone in a net and bring it to the ground safely under a parachute. Electronic warfare methods are proving difficult to regulate and approve for use and SkyWall offers a capable alternative.

Physically capturing a drone is the best way to ensure control of a situation is maintained. Once captured it can be impounded, forensically investigated or simply handed back with some words of education where appropriate.
