About Adderstone Group

The Adderstone Group is made up of a number of different legal identities, details of which are available on our ‘Associated Entities’ page in the footer of this website.

This privacy policy is issued on behalf of the Adderstone Group so when we mention “Adderstone Group”, “we”, “us” or “our” in this privacy policy, we are referring to the relevant company in the Adderstone Group responsible for processing your data. Adderstone Group is the controller and responsible for this website.

On what legal basis are we operating? 

The law on data protection sets out a number of reasons for which a company may collect and process personal data, including:

Consent – In specific situations, we can collect and process your data with your consent. For example, when you tick a box to receive email newsletters.

Contractual obligations – In some circumstances, we need to process your data where it is necessary for the performance of a contract to which you are a party or to take steps at your request before entering into such a contract.

What sort of personal data do we collect? 

Personal data, or personal information, means any information about an individual from which that person can be identified. It does not include data where the identity has been removed (anonymous data).

Nor do we collect any information about criminal convictions and offences.

Who do we share your data with?

For example, partner businesses within the Adderstone Group, IT support, consultancy, banking, legal, insurance and accounting services, HM Revenue & Customs, regulators and other authorities who require reporting of processing activities in certain circumstances.

We do not allow our third-party service providers to use your personal data for their own purposes and only permit them to process your personal data for specified purposes and in accordance with our instructions.

We may also be required to disclose your personal data to the police or other enforcement, regulatory or Government body, in your country of origin or elsewhere, upon a valid request to do so. These requests are assessed on a case-by-case basis and take the privacy of our customers into consideration.

We may, from time to time, expand, reduce merge or sell businesses or properties or assets owned by Adderstone Group and this may involve the transfer of divisions or the whole business to new owners. It may also involve the transfer of tenants to a new owner or landlord.  Alternatively, we may seek to acquire other businesses or merge with them. What rights do you have over your data?

You have the right to stop the use of your personal data for direct marketing activity through all channels, or selected channels. We must always comply with your request.

To stop the use of your personal data, you can click the ‘unsubscribe’ link in any email communication that we send you. We will then stop any further emails from that particular division. Please note that you may continue to receive communications for a short period after changing your preferences while our systems are fully updated.

We may need to request specific information from you to help us confirm your identity and ensure your right to access your personal data (or to exercise any of your other rights). This is a security measure to ensure that personal data is not disclosed to any person who has no right to receive it. We may also contact you to ask you for further information in relation to your request to speed up our response.

We try to respond to all legitimate requests within one month. Occasionally it could take us longer than a month if your request is particularly complex or you have made a number of requests. In this case, we will notify you and keep you updated.
