Adderstone’s Group Legal Director, Tim Clark joined the company in 2008 on a three-month term to help the company through a particularly busy period. Quite a few years, and many hundreds of property negotiations later, we couldn’t let him go. Tim is Adderstone’s Legal Head and an integral part of the Adderstone Board.
After growing up in Hexham, Northumberland and achieving a BA (Hons) in Law from Newcastle Polytechnic, passing Law Society exams and completing training, Tim embarked on his career in 1981 at Dickinson Dees in Newcastle. He worked his way up to partner at both Keenlyside & Forster and Ward Hadaway, specialising in plot sales and development work for house builders and becoming one of the most senior names on the law circuit in Newcastle.
Tim lists his professional highlights with Adderstone Group as: “Being able to see development projects through from brownfield sites and complicated planning applications to delivery and regeneration,” and admits he loves the ‘can-do’ culture at Adderstone Group in which difficulties are merely approached as an extra challenge to overcome.
Tim is incredibly modest when it comes to Adderstone Group’s recent £17 million and £9 million pound disposal deals, barely mentioning his role which was integral to the deals and which saw the sale of a part of Adderstone Group’s UK Ground Rent Estates portfolio in 2013 and 2014.
Tim values his free time away from the office. His love of classic cars means he own a convertible MX5 and any spare time not poring over the next deal at his desk is spent enjoying the outdoors in the MX5 with the top down (when the North East weather allows!), cycling, photography and playing ‘self-taught’ guitar, a passion which Tim has enjoyed for many years, and one in which he lists his young grandsons as his biggest fans.
