Gary is Adderstone Group’s Director of Estates. He joined the business in 2017 specifically to expand the commercial estates portfolio through new acquisitions and oversee the commercial property team.
Gary also provides support and advice to the Adderstone Group Development team having established a wealth of knowledge and expertise in development over the last 25 years.
Gary is a local lad having spent most of his formative years around Newcastle and weekends in Northumberland. After two years of Scottish Ski Instructing and competing at National Level in Ski Racing, academia took Gary to complete a BSc (Hons) in Estate Management at Kingston University, Surrey. During his graduate years Gary took up roles in Estates Management at British Rail Property Board and portfolio management at Peel Holdings in London, qualifying as a Chartered Surveyor in 1990.
Relocating back to the North East, Gary moved into regeneration and development joining regeneration specialist London & Edinburgh Trust Plc and then Amec Developments working on the Royal Quays Regeneration and Port Wakefield Rail projects. A year out travelling the world skiing in New Zealand and North America followed with a spell working back in London. Gary joined UK Land Estates in 1999 as a key team member, rising rapidly to board Development Director and expanding the business into a major property company based in the North East, marketing and leasing a commercial portfolio and developing out over £75m of projects including Maingate, Team Valley and The Waterfront, Newburn Riverside.
