As I approach my second year of A-Levels, the process of “what’s next?” is rapidly approaching, I have found that experience in the profession you want to pursue is much more valuable than just researching endless university courses and opting for one that “looks okay”.
Even though a week sounds like a short space of time, mine has certainly been packed with insightful views of what a career in marketing would hold. I have thoroughly enjoyed learning about the hard work and preparation that goes into a marketing campaign, from supporting the social media channels, websites, to preparing presentations and attending meetings. A highlight of my week has been visiting and learning about the progress of Adderstone Group’s Stepney Yard development site.
Being a student myself, I found that working on the student accommodation projects has been particularly relevant as I have been able to relate to the audience through research, blog post writing, social media updates etc. Over the course of my time here I have never been short of tasks, there’s a lively buzz to Adderstone’s work environment which is reflected in its success.
This opportunity has broadened my knowledge as well as my outlook on what I want to do in the future.
