We are looking for a passionate Architectural Technologist placement student to join our talented and award-winning development team, on our multimillion pound portfolio of development opportunities throughout the UK.


Our office is located in Ouseburn, Newcastle, and has over 50 staff across all divisions. This mix of disciplines creates an educational and supportive environment and this will allow the successful candidate to develop their own skills, as well as gain experience from people outside the architectural discipline. Working at Adderstone Group will allow the successful candidate to focus on self-development of constructional knowledge, design, drafting, site experience and communication skills.

By joining us, you will gain excellent experience in developing opportunities within a vast existing development portfolio, working with other lead design consultants such as structural and mechanical engineers to guide projects through the various stages of the design process, including planning, technical design and building regulation approvals. You will also work closely with other divisions within the company, such as; construction, legal, marketing and commercial estates, which will develop your knowledge in a live environment.


The successful candidate must have the below skills and attributes:

  • Be enthusiastic, resourceful and have strong communication skills.
  • Have excellent graphic skills, ability to take accurate dimensions and measure buildings.
  • Ability to produce free hand sketches and to develop sketch schemes through the design process.
  • Basic knowledge of the UK building regulations would be beneficial.


You will have the opportunity to develop as an architectural technologist and gain both site and design studio experience as well as contributing to the design studio’s portfolio, whilst working in a friendly team enviroment.

This is a 12-15 month placement, starting in August 2019, available to Architectural Technologist students.

Applicants must be currently studying towards a relevant degree and able to demonstrate a proficiency in AutoCAD/Revit/SketchUp. An ability to use other design programmes including Photoshop and Microsoft Office would also be a benefit. We expect applicants to be self-motivated, have effective time management skills and the ability to work to deadlines.
