Adderstone Group is seeking an experienced Management Accountant to help manage its growing portfolio.


Adderstone Group’s Estates division is currently managing a portfolio of office, industrial, retail and leisure assets throughout the UK and we are seeking a very strong management accountant who can manage the entire accounting provision of an asset, seeing it through its entire lifespan, from acquisition, to management, to potential disposal.

This is an opportunity for a knowledgeable self-starter with a strong work ethic and ‘can-do’ attitude who understands their portfolio and can work on their own initiative, for example investigate opportunities around capital allowances, identifying opportunities within the role.


Essential experience / qualifications:

  • At least two years’ experience in a management accounting role, ideally in a property related business.
  • Proficient in Excel.
  • Knowledge of Qube MRI experience is desirable.


Key responsibilities:

Adderstone’s Estates division currently manage 32 entities. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing their own portfolio and ensuring all deadlines are achieved including:

  • Monthly management accounts.
  • Monthly covenant reporting for senior debt providers, with tight reporting deadlines.
  • Investigation of anomalies and identification of revenue opportunities.
  • Service charge accounting within landlords’ accounts.
  • VAT compliance, including registration & option to tax.
  • Management of JV partner obligations including HMRC reporting.
  • Preparation of investment reports to JV partners on a quarterly basis.
  • Cash flow management and forecasting.
  • Internal activity reporting for the ‘Group’.
  • Ensure internal fees for managing the portfolios are raised correctly.
  • Understanding of personal and corporate tax, including capital allowance computations.
  • Able to understand statutory accounts and explain to non-financial team members.
  • Ad-hoc reporting assistance across departments, including on non-financial reports.


We would expect the candidate to be:

  • Professional and able to use appropriate language in all written and verbal communication, both internally and externally.
  • Able to manage own deadlines and workloads.
  • Able to work under time pressure.
  • Have good IT skills and capable of picking up new systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail.

Standard working hours are Monday to Friday - 9am to 5pm – role based in Jesmond, Newcastle upon Tyne.
