We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated placement student to join our talented development team on our multimillion pound portfolio of development opportunities throughout the UK.


Adderstone Group’s Development Division is responsible for the property development arm of Adderstone Group and currently manages a diverse pipeline of residential and opportunities.

Our office is located in Jesmond, Newcastle, and hosts over 50 staff across all divisions including; commercial estates, architecture, marketing, legal and accounts. This mix of disciplines creates an educational and supportive environment and will give the successful candidate the chance to work closely with a variety of different people and roles, developing their own skills, as well as gaining experience from people outside their department.

The successful candidate will be required to assist the development surveyors and in-house architects with a range of tasks including the following:

  • Preparing development appraisals.
  • Compiling legal packs using relevant HM Land Registry plans and documents, following liaison with in-house solicitors.
  • Assisting with project management on live projects.
  • Liaising with architects to discuss potential development opportunities.
  • Liaising with agents to compile comparable data.
  • Taking meeting minutes and distributing to relevant design team.
  • Arranging site visits.
  • Assessment of examination of contractors suitable including risk assessment and method statements.
  • Assisting with driving value engineering when required.
  • Liaising with planning professionals, planning consultants and health and safety executives.
  • Assisting in discharge of planning applications.
  • Communicating with leaseholders regarding planning applications.
  • Ordering sample materials, i.e. for interior designers.
  • Creating, organising and managing the purchase order system.
  • Admin tasks as required.
  • Arranging quotations.


The prospective candidate must be from a construction related degree course.


They will gain first-hand experience in this busy development division. They should be able to work well under pressure and use their own initiative to gain as much as they can from this experience.

Support will always be available and the candidate will be encouraged to develop their professional and personal skills, with invaluable experience to be gained for their career and construction related degree qualification.
