Multi-Site Resurfacing & Section 106 Works

Adderstone Civils carried out resurfacing and civil engineering works across several commercial sites for Adderstone Management, part of the wider Adderstone Group. The works improved access for vehicles and pedestrians, upgraded drainage and street surfaces, and provided safe, durable finishes in busy areas. Each site was carefully planned to keep businesses, residents, and the public moving, completing the work right the first time. A responsibility we take seriously.

Scope of works:

• Traffic management and lane closures, including TTROs where required
  Milling, planing, and resurfacing of roads, car parks, and pedestrian areas (650–1,450m² per site)
• Thermoplastic line markings and shared access road installations
• Formation of ramped access hammerheads to public highways
• Drainage channel repairs, street furniture replacement, and pedestrian walkway maintenance

Project Highlights by Site:

Haughton Road, Darlington: We resurfaced 1,025m² of shared access roads and the retail park car park, including thermoplastic markings for vehicles and pedestrians. Works were carefully phased to maintain continuous access to an industrial estate and multiple retail units, ensuring minimal disruption while delivering a high-quality, long-lasting surface.

Pipewell Gate Quay, Gateshead: Installation of a ramped access hammerhead to the public highway which required precision grading, strict traffic management and TTRO lane closures. The works were planned to ensure safe access for all users while upgrading infrastructure to meet both operational and regulatory standards.

The Fleming, Jesmond: Resurfacing 1,450m² of roads and car parks included thermoplastic markings and careful staging to maintain access to offices, a nursing home and a popular café outlet. Balancing time efficiency and whilst maintaining quality, Adderstone Civils delivered full resurfacing works while keeping the site fully operational.

Bakers Yard, Gosforth: Adderstone Civils formed a ramped access hammerhead connecting to the public highway. Works were carefully aligned with highway standards and executed with precision, ensuring safe, long-lasting access for local users while coordinating TTROs and traffic management.

Athenaeum House, Sunderland: The Resurfacing of 650m² of car parks and access roads with thermoplastic markings. Adderstone Civils upgraded the surface to improve durability and operational efficiency, whilst ensuring the site was still operational.

Hexham Broadgates: Resurfacing 1,200m² combined with drainage repairs, street furniture replacement, and pedestrian walkway maintenance. Careful sequencing and planning allowed access to the Broadgate Shopping Centre to continue uninterrupted, delivering infrastructure improvements that will serve the public and businesses for years to come.
