For people living with hearing loss, everyday life can present constant challenges. Charities such as Hearing Dogs for Deaf People transform lives by providing highly trained assistance dogs that give independence, safety and companionship.
Action
In 2013, the Adderstone Foundation began raising funds in memory of Helen Robertson, a cause close to the team’s hearts.
To launch the fundraising effort, the Adderstone Group Ladies 5-a-side football team took on a gruelling three-hour Halloween-themed fitness boot camp led by North East trainer Lauren Sutherland of Be-neFIT Health and Fitness.
Impact
The challenge raised both funds and awareness for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, helping support the training of dogs that provide vital assistance and independence for people living with deafness.
