Barrack Terrace is the first social housing scheme delivered by Adderstone Living, the social housing division of Adderstone Group.

The scheme, consisting of 10 high-quality, two-bed properties was delivered on behalf of client, North Star Housing Group, to high demand from potential tenants.

The main driver of the scheme was to deliver high-quality, affordable homes that people would want to live in. During the build, meticulous care was taken over the quality of design with modern and stylish kitchens and bathrooms, spacious layouts and energy-efficient homes with good external space making them incredibly desirable. All of the properties were let off-plan prior to delivery.

With Adderstone Living having only been established in March 2020, the company’s two directors, Stephen McCoy and Peter Galbraith had rescued the project when the original builders went out of business. The £1.4m development was completed in Summer 2020 and named the nearby Thornaby Aerodrome and its Royal Airforce connections.

Thornaby-on-Tees, also referred to as Thornaby, is a market town and civil parish in the Borough of Stockton-on-Tees, Teesside, lying on the River’s south bank.

In the late 2000s, Thornaby underwent a significant redevelopment and regeneration to modernise the 20th Century town centre. Barrack Terrace lies a short distance from the centre of the town, close to a large number of amenities and transport links.
