On Friday 21st October, Adderstone Group’s CEO Ian Baggett presented to Ministers and international investors at a prestigious event held in 10 Downing Street.

Newcastle City was selected to pitch investment opportunities to the Investor Roundtable, which was organised by the government’s Department for Trade and Investment team and chaired by Greg Hands, Ministers of State for International Trade.

Core cities Glasgow and Sheffield were also selected to present investment propositions and set their stall out to potential investors.

Ian attended Downing Street along with Nick Forbes, Leader of Newcastle City Council and Tom Warburton, Director of Investment and Development, to present a number of standout investment propositions.

Ian said: “10 Downing Street is a first for me! What a great opportunity to witness first-hand the level of genuine interest in our city from international and institutional investors.

“We were delighted to have been granted the opportunity to support Newcastle City Council’s wider presentation and hope to be able to announce further inward investment in the near future. The best projects result from private and public sector collaboration, and I think we conveyed this perfectly to the Minister and investors.”

Leader Nick Forbes said: “This was a unique opportunity and we were determined to make a strong case for investment in Newcastle, and showcase the place as well as the people.

“We have much to be proud about as Newcastle’s profile continues to grow, and we must build on that confidence to secure investment, grow our economy and create new jobs for generations to come.

‘Newcastle is open for business and I am confident in our city’s future, and that we can be a Great North City.”
