Evolved Search expands into Newcastle city centre offices

Digital marketing agency, Evolved Search has moved into new office space on Newcastle’s iconic Grey Street to support the business’ bold expansion plans.

The award-winning marketing agency will be creating a workspace ‘hub’ for all staff at Adderstone Group’s Gainsborough House, located on Grey Street. The move will support further agency growth and create a collaborative hub enabling team members and clients to come together.

Founded in 2014, Evolved Search offers SEO, content marketing, digital PR, conversion rate optimisation, and paid marketing services, specialising predominantly in the automotive, finance, and retail sectors. The agency has recently reported a 45% increase in annual revenue and aims to achieve a £5m turnover for their current financial year.

The office move will accommodate Evolved’s significant growth over the past three years, having added 23 new faces during the past financial year alone, with an aim to have over 100 staff by the end of 2024. Following remote working since March 2020, the new 5,300 sq. ft workspace offers a collaborative hub on Newcastle’s prestigious Grey Street to facilitate the team’s phased return to the office from late September.

Adderstone Group acquired Gainsborough House in July 2018 and, following a comprehensive refurbishment, the Grade II listed 27,000 sq. ft building is now fully occupied with tenants including Metro Radio, leading development consultancy Pegasus Group, artisan pizza restaurant Pizza Punks, engineering services company Penspen, workforce solutions specialists Manpower and global technology company Condeco.

Adderstone Group’s Commercial Estates Manager, Mel Brown, said: “We’ve been incredibly impressed with Evolved’s growth story in recent years.

“Their requirement for high-quality, centrally-located workspace designed to accommodate a more flexible and collaborative way of working matched perfectly with the final suite available at Gainsborough House. It’s been a pleasure to work with them on the new space in readiness for their teams to be able to return to the office.”

Ian McIntosh, Managing Director at Evolved Search, said: “We were looking for an office that would provide our team with a stylish, comfortable space to collaborate, welcome clients and create the award-winning campaigns we’ve become known for over the years. Gainsborough House certainly fit the bill.

“The past 18 months have been difficult for everyone, but we’ve been incredibly fortunate that our business has kept on growing, and we now need a bigger HQ. Remote working will still be a big part of our business, but the new hub will be a place to get together, and we’re excited to welcome the Evolved Search team to our new home.”

Paddy Matheson, Partner at Knight Frank who represented Adderstone in negotiating the lettings, commented: “Gainsborough House is fantastically located office building. The refurbishment that Adderstone undertook after purchasing the building has provided some of the best office space in Newcastle. The flurry of new lettings is a testament to the quality of the workspace created.
