Adderstone Living has become the first UK developer to secure nutrient neutrality credits through Natural England’s nutrient neutrality credit system. This significant achievement enables the business to move forward with its development plans while adhering to new environmental regulations designed to protect watercourses from nutrient pollution.
The credits were secured for Adderstone Living’s project at Sanderling Square in Ashington, Northumberland, which includes 72 affordable homes. The nutrient neutrality initiative helps ensure that development projects do not contribute to water pollution, which is crucial for preserving local ecosystems.
This milestone reflects Adderstone Living’s commitment to sustainable development, balancing the need for new homes with environmental responsibility.
