In 2022, the Adderstone Foundation supported humanitarian efforts in response to the war in Ukraine. Working with Operation SafeDrop, the Foundation sent support vehicles carrying medical supplies and essential provisions to the Ukraine–Slovakia border and helped transport aid into affected areas. The partnership also assisted with evacuating vulnerable civilians, ensuring life‑saving resources reached hospitals, shelters and communities in need.

In 2017, the Adderstone Foundation donated to the RNLI, going some way to help funding the kit and training needed to bring loved ones safely home to their families.
In 2016, the Adderstone Foundation supported World Vision’s Girls’ Education Project in rural Zimbabwe, helping tackle the barriers that prevent girls from staying in school. The programme worked with families, schools and communities to create safer learning environments and improve access to education, ultimately supporting around 49,000 girls to continue their studies and build brighter futures.
In 2016, the Adderstone Foundation supported former rugby player Padraig Hallissey after a match injury left him with a stroke and severe speech difficulties. Working with the IRFU Charitable Trust, the Foundation provided eight weeks of accommodation in Newcastle so Padraig could access specialist speech therapy. The support helped him rebuild his communication skills, regain confidence and return home to continue his career as a joiner.
In 2015, the Adderstone Foundation supported Dunston Boxing Club, helping the team continue its work mentoring young people through sport. The club provides a positive environment where children and teenagers learn boxing fundamentals while building discipline, confidence and resilience under the guidance of experienced coaches.
In 2014, the Adderstone Foundation sponsored the 119th Northumberland Open Tennis Tournament, raising £4,100 to support visually impaired tennis at The Northumberland Club. The funding ensured regular sessions for children and adults and strengthened opportunities for visually impaired athletes to train, compete and build confidence.
In 2014, the Adderstone Foundation supported Stratus Flying, a charity founded by pilot James Moon to give disabled, terminally ill and disadvantaged young people the chance to experience flight. The Foundation’s sponsorship helped provide unforgettable moments of freedom, including a special birthday flight for 14‑year‑old Danny Duffy.
In 2014, the Adderstone Foundation supported Seb4CHUF, the fundraising campaign created by Nadine and Ivan Hollingsworth after their son Seb underwent life‑saving heart surgery at the Freeman Hospital. The Foundation sponsored the campaign’s Coast to Coast Challenge, where a team cycled from England’s east coast to the west and then ran the entire route back, raising vital funds for the Children’s Heart Unit Fund and the families it supports.
In 2014, the Adderstone Foundation took on the Warrior Beach Assault Charity Challenge to support visually impaired athletes. The event helped raise funds and awareness for the North East Visually Impaired Tennis Club, strengthening opportunities for players to build confidence, develop skills and experience competitive sport.
