In 2008, conversion took place of the former Telephone Exchange on the edge of the South Jesmond conservation area in Newcastle upon Tyne into 15,000 sq. ft. (1393 sq. m.) of contemporary office space.
The interior of the Exchange Building has been fully refurbished to a very high specification and stylish mixed size office suites are available for hire. The unique character of the building has been retained with the simple art deco façade as originally built in 1949 left untouched. As one of the tallest buildings in the Jesmond area, the Exchange building offers spectacular views across Jesmond and Jesmond Dene.
The building is three storeys with a generous floor to ceiling height. The upper two floors have been successfully converted into contemporary office space and the ground floor has been retained for the use of British Telecom.
The Adderstone Group enjoyed five years based in the Exchange Building from 2008 to 2013 prior to the company’s office relocation to Maling Court, Newcastle upon Tyne.
The Exchange Building provides high quality studio style offices situated in a distinctive building in the heart of Jesmond. The office space features flexible, open-plan floor plates with generous floor to ceiling heights of 4.3 metres; providing a light and airy working environment. The offices also benefit from a passenger lift, dedicated on-site parking and disabled access throughout.
