Who are Adderstone Group?
Adderstone Group is a privately owned property investment, development and regeneration business headquartered in Newcastle upon Tyne. For over 25 years, we have been committed to creating, delivering and managing exceptional places that improve and regenerate areas across the UK.
Who are Adderstone Living?
Adderstone Living is the Group’s residential development arm, delivering high-quality homes and residential communities across the North East and beyond.
Working closely with our internal development, construction and commercial teams, Adderstone Living manages projects from initial concept and design through to construction and completion. Our developments range from city centre residential schemes to larger regeneration projects, all focused on creating well-designed homes and sustainable communities.
Who are we looking for?
We’re seeking an ambitious and motivated undergraduate studying Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Real Estate, or a related discipline, who is looking to undertake a placement year as part of their degree.
You’ll be organised, numerate and commercially minded, with a keen interest in how residential development projects are delivered. Given the nature of our work, you should be detail-oriented, proactive and confident communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, from subcontractors and consultants to site teams, project managers and senior leaders.
More than anything, we’re looking for someone who wants genuine responsibility and practical experience. You’ll be keen to understand how residential developments are costed, procured and delivered, and how commercial decisions influence programme, quality and financial outcomes across a project.
Why choose Adderstone Living?
This is an opportunity to gain real-world experience working on residential development projects that contribute to regeneration and housing delivery across the region.
You won’t be confined to observation. Instead, you’ll be embedded within live projects and commercial processes, working closely with experienced project managers, quantity surveyors and development professionals. You’ll gain exposure to the full lifecycle of development projects, from early feasibility and procurement through to delivery and completion.
Most importantly, you’ll see the tangible impact of your work on projects that shape the built environment. Culture matters to us, and we aim to create an environment where people feel trusted, supported and involved.
The role: what you’ll be doing…
The role will involve a wide range of commercial and project support duties, including:
- Assisting with the preparation of cost plans and project budgets
- Supporting the procurement of subcontractors and suppliers for residential construction packages
- Supporting the preparation of subcontract orders and documentation
- Assisting with checking subcontractor applications and invoices against completed works
- Maintaining commercial and project documentation
- Supporting the monitoring of project costs and preparing cost reports
- Assisting with the preparation of variations and final accounts
